Crossing El Camino Real: Community as Text for the Health Professions

November 21, 2013 -
4:00am to 5:00am
Hartley Conference Center, Mitchell Earth Sciences Building

Audience members are encouraged to bring a brown-bag lunch. All talks are free and open to the public; no reservation required. Drinks and desserts are served.

Through service learning courses on community health, I’ll show how my students interested in health professions learn and develop a deep understanding of the principles of effective and ethical public service; by working together with community agencies, students expand their concept of scholarship to include not only discovery but also integration, application and education.
