The Pilot Go Pass program or eligible graduate students and postdoctoral scholars has been extended through 2019.

The price of the Go Pass has been reduced to $100 starting June 1. The Go Pass will be free for all eligible graduate students and postdoctoral scholars starting Sept. 1, 2016. The Go Pass can save commuters hundreds or thousands of dollars a year.

Additional program parameters are being assessed and will be communicated at a later date.

Eligibility

Before you purchase or pick up your Go Pass, please check the eligibility requirements or confirm your eligibility with the P&TS online eligibility checker.

Graduate students: To be eligible, you must live off campus and be enrolled for a minimum of six units or TGR status.

How to pick up your 2016 Go Pass

• If you already have a Go Pass, keep using it! Current Go Passes are valid through December 2016. There are no refunds for passes purchased prior to June 1.
• If you want a Go Pass this summer, buy it now for $100.
• If you don’t need a pass until September, pick up your free pass starting Sept. 1.

Replacement fee

Please note that replacements for lost Go Passes will still be $190 for first-time replacements and $380 for the second replacement. The replacement fee is specified in Stanford’s agreement with Caltrain and is not affected by the price of the pass. Please refer to our page on lost, stolen, or damaged passes for more information.

Program support

The extension of the Pilot Go Pass programs for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars is made possible by a subsidy from the Provost and by the Dean of the School of Medicine, who recognize that this is an important measure to address the high cost of living in the Bay Area.

The pilot programs are a collaboration of the Graduate Student Council, Stanford University Postdoctoral Association, Vice Provost for Graduate Education, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, and Parking & Transportation Services.
