ACE (Altamont Corridor Express)
Stanford faculty, staff, and students now enjoy a 50-percent discount on ACE train monthly passes or 20-trip tickets (limit of one per month). Discounted tickets are only available through Stanford Parking & Transportation Services, either at our office or through our online ordering system. Eligible Stanford employees can purchase tickets on a monthly recurring basis via pre-tax payroll deduction for further savings.
The ACE train runs weekdays between Stockton and San Jose, serving the following stations:
- Stockton
- Lathrop-Manteca
- Tracy
- Vasco Road
- Livermore
- Pleasanton
- Fremont
- Great America
- Santa Clara
- San Jose Diridon
Stanford commuters can transfer at the Fremont station to the Line U East Bay Express bus, which runs directly to campus (and is free with a Stanford ID). The ACE train also connects to Caltrain at the Santa Clara and San Jose Diridon stations. Commuters to the main campus or Research Park can take Caltrain to the Palo Alto station on University Avenue, then transfer to a free Marguerite shuttle or bike or walk to their Stanford destination.
