DuPont joins GCEP

From the Director

Welcome to the first quarterly newsletter from the Global Climate and Energy Project (GCEP) at Stanford University.

We are delighted to share some exciting news – DuPont joins GCEP as our newest corporate partner. DuPont is an ideal sponsor with its robust research capability and commitment to global sustainability. By joining GCEP, DuPont affirms the value of university-industry partnerships and our fundamental research on sustainable technologies that could significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions while providing affordable and plentiful energy for all.

Please take a look below to learn more about our new video library, game-changing research and the events and people that help shape GCEP. We hope that you follow us as we continue to build a portfolio of innovative energy technologies.

What's New
Want to learn the basics about solar energy, shale gas or battery storage from top experts in the field?  The Energy 101 Tutorials that have been such a hit at GCEP conferences are now part of a new video library featured on our site.
Game-Changing Research
Shanhui Fan and his GCEP colleagues have designed a new technology that uses magnetic fields to transmit large electric currents wirelessly. The research could lead to an all-electric highway that wirelessly charges moving vehicles.
Inside GCEP
How does GCEP decide what to fund? Take a look inside GCEP’s recent request for proposals in carbon capture and the step-by-step process that resulted in close to $5 million in new funding.
GCEPeople
Jason Bloking was a process engineer in Silicon Valley when he recognized the incredible potential of solar energy. He decided to leave his job in semiconductors and jump back into academia at Stanford.
