Graduate Studies in Jewish Studies

The Taube Center seeks to foster the next generation of Jewish Studies scholarship by offering financial support for graduate students and by encouraging intellectual community. Stanford graduate students in Jewish Studies have gone on to important positions in academia and intellectual leadership and have made innumerable contributions to scholarship and teaching.
Because Jewish Studies is an interdisciplinary field, training occurs within relevant departments—History, Religious Studies, Comparative Literature, Slavics, German Studies, English—and students should thus apply for admission through the relevant department. Once admitted, however, the Taube Center offers the following kinds of support
- Graduate Fellowships to support multiple years of study
- Funding to support language instruction, research travel and conference
- The Colloquium on Jews, Judaism and Jewish Culture
- Current listing of alumni
- Profiles of some of our current graduate students
