The Family Advocacy Program
Providing Free Legal Services to Families in San Mateo County
The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is a collaboration between the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County (Legal Aid) and the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. Legal Aid will provide FREE legal services and representation on the following issues to low-income families of San Mateo County and Santa Clara County whose children are receiving medical care at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and Clinics, including the Pediatric Health Van in Redwood City and East Palo Alto, the Stanford University Emergency Department, or the Ravenswood Family Health Center. Families who do not live in San Mateo County or Santa Clara County will receive referrals to other resources.
We can help with any of the following issues:
- Medical Insurance & Help with Medical Bills
- Housing Problems
- Public Benefits (Welfare, Food Stamps, Social Security)
- Domestic Violence
- Educational Programs
- Disability Benefits
- Help for Teen Parents
- Assistance for Care Givers of Family Members
