Application Process
The Program’s 2014 fellowship position has been filled.
Our program will be participating in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for our 2015 fellowship positions. Please note that the schedule of dates for the 2015 NRMP has changed.
Applications are reviewed by both the Fellowship Program Director and Coordinator, and applicants are invited to campus for on-site interviews.
Applicants can begin uploading their application materials into ERAS on July 1, 2014. Our program will only review complete applications. NRMP Match results will be released in December, 2014.
Application deadline for 2015 Fellowship is October 24, 2014.
Application Materials
Please submit the following required documents through ERAS:
- Completed ERAS application
- Medical school transcript including Dean’s letter
- At least three letters of recommendation including one from your residency program director
- Copies of USMLE scores
- An ECFMG certificate, if applicable
- Curriculum vitae
- Personal statement
- Recent photograph

Timelines
The ERAS system opens in June for applicants to begin working on their applications. However, applicants will be unable to formally apply to our program (or any other pediatric infectious diseases fellowship program) until July 1, 2014.
Interview days will take place Monday-Friday during September-October, 2014.
Applicants to the program will be expected to have completed a pediatric residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Two years of ACGME residency training in the United States or Canada is also required for a California medical license. Applicants who are accepted into the Fellowship Program should apply for a California medical license at least six months in advance of the fellowship start date since it can take a minimum of six months to obtain a license. You must have an active California medical license prior to the starting date of your fellowship.
