“The ASB leader experience has been the highlight of my Stanford career. It was empowering and inspiring to see Stanford students taking time during their spring break to become more informed about the communities that we live in and how we can make an impact. It made the much-needed connection between the content that is learned in the classroom and how it can be applied from a perspective of service.”

“I am so glad I decided to co-lead my ASB. It was one of the most stressful endeavors of my life so far, but it has been so rewarding. It was a beautiful experience.”

“Leading ASB was one of the best experiences I've had at Stanford. I learned so much, not just about the subjects my course and trip addressed, but also about leadership and working with people. I recognized how much growth I've experienced as a leader since coming to Stanford, and I enhanced my group management abilities. I was reminded that every person has a unique story to share, and it is possible to form close bonds with anyone, no matter how different I think we are. ASB reinvigorated my dedication and love for social justice, and the experience was part of my year-long realization that (building, shaping, being part of a) community is extremely important to me.”

“It's given me confidence in leading discussions & courage to ask hard questions, while being sensitive to participants' point of view & experiences. If I wasn't graduating, I'd do it again. It's so rewarding seeing how participants grow throughout the course and trip.”
