Bulletin: Stanford Issuing Chip-Enabled Card for Stanford Travel Cardholders (Posted January 7, 2016)

In cooperation with our travel card provider, JPMorgan Chase, we are switching all Stanford Travel Cards to chip-enabled cards. The new cards contain a microchip designed to improve security, and they will be accepted at chip-enabled and traditional payment terminals around the world. These cards will be delivered to your Stanford business address by the end of January.

ACTION:

When you receive your chip-enabled travel card, you will need to create a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to activate the card. This simple process requires you to call the phone number on the activation label to set your PIN and activate the card.

Your new card will come with additional informational materials, including answers to frequently asked questions – which can also be found on the Gateway to Financial Activities web site. Once you receive and activate your chip-enabled travel card, your old card will be deactivated. If your new chip card is not activated within 30 days, your old card will automatically be deactivated after the 30-day point.

If you have any questions, please notify Travel Card Administraion.
