Summer Internships in the West

Every summer the Bill Lane Center for the American West offers a multitude of opportunities for undergraduates and graduating seniors to work with organizations throughout the West exploring careers in natural history, conservation, land use, museum curation, resource management, and related fields.

Stanford Energy Internships in California

SEIC will offer a suite of paid energy-related, public service internships for Stanford students within governmental organizations in California during the summer. These internship positions are for 35-40 hours a week for nine to ten consecutive weeks, starting the week of June 20, 2016. Application window opens Dec. 17, 2015, and applications are due by February 9, 2016.

Since 2005, our offerings have grown from five internships to, in some years, more than a dozen diverse opportunities with organizations dedicated to tackling the abundant environmental, economic, and social challenges facing the region. Additionally, in partnership with the Precourt Institute for Energy, the Haas Center for Public Service, and Stanford in Government, the Center will offer several new energy-related internships for undergraduate and graduate students in the summer of 2016.

Internships are 10 weeks (exact dates may be negotiated with the host organization) and compensated with stipend to help cover living expenses, including housing, transportation, and food. 

Applications for summer 2016 internships are due by 5pm on Tuesday, February 9th.
