G.R.I.D. Printer Release Forms

Last revision October 14, 2013

Click on the link below for the printer you are using. This will take you to the appropriate release form. You can access the release forms only from the computers in the G.R.I.D. lab. Connections from other computers will be rejected.

Supply your SUNet ID on the Webauth page to get access to the release form. You must be affiliated with the School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences or your SUNet ID will be rejected. If your SUNet ID is rejected by mistake, contact the G.R.I.D. lab management.

You may have to wait a few minutes for the print job to appear on the release form. Simply refresh the form page until your job appears (you will be able to identify your job by the file name, computer name, SUnet ID, and date/time stamp contained in the job listing).

On the form, please supply the P-T-A to be charged, the length and width of the print in inches, the number of copies you requested in the Print dialog box, a faculty contact name, your name, and the purpose of the print. Then click the Release button. Your job will not print until you release it! Jobs will print in the order released, not in the order submitted. If your job is not released within 48 hours it will be discarded. The cost for printing is $1/square foot, so a 42" x 60" poster will cost $17.50.

Both printers have a large internal hard disk and can receive additional new jobs from pangea while they are working on printing a previous one. Each printer has a job queue visible on the front control panel. Jobs can be identified by their date and time. Jobs submitted from Mac OS X will also show the file name on the control panel.

You will be charged for all jobs you release to the printers (unless you notify us of cancellations). See Usage Policies regarding billing adjustments.

Deleting/Cancelling Jobs

If you have not released your print job and want to cancel, then do nothing. Your job will not print and you will not be charged. Your job will disappear from the print queues in two days if never released.

If you have released a print job and then want to cancel your print before it is sent to the printer, click on the link above for the appropriate printer release form and then choose your print job from the drop down menu and click the delete button. You will not be charged for released print jobs that are deleted using the web form.

If you want to cancel a job that has already been sent to the printer and no longer shows in the job queue on the release form, cancel the print using the buttons on the printer itself. Then send an email to the G.R.I.D. lab management stating that you cancelled the print job using the front panel. You must specify the date, time, SUNet ID, account number, length, and width in your original submission and the length and width of the actual paper used during the aborted print, so it can be identified in the accounting database and the charge adjusted down.
