ePTA users need to understand that some changes to PTA attributes may require a corresponding update in Authority Manager to re-grant proper authorities. (To learn more about Authority Manager, see: About Financial Authority @ Stanford)

Note:  Changes to owning organizations will not auto-revoke authority in Authority Manager.

Changes to PTA task managers impact the distribution of and access to financial reports.

ePTA allows users to specify whether persons assigned as owners or managers receive emailed Expenditure Reports.

Impacts on Authority

When changing a Project's Owning Organization or Principal Owner:

• If authority was granted based on Owning Organization or Principal Owner (within an Owning Organization), then authority may need to be re-granted in Authority Manager.
• If authority was granted based on Project, Project-Task or Award, authority will not be affected and no re-granting is necessary.

Impacts on Financial Reporting

Changes to PTA owning attributes affect access to certain financial data. ePTA allows users to specify whether persons assigned as owners or managers receive emailed Expenditure Reports.

Changes to PTA owning attributes occur immediately in Oracle. However, because of the varied timing of data-refresh in various other systems, users will not see the changes reflected in all systems immediately.
