Admissions

E-IPER's PhD and Joint MS in Environment and Resources degree programs are both highly selective. While applicants have a variety of academic, professional, and personal backgrounds, the strongest candidates clearly demonstrate how they will integrate their prior academic and professional experiences with their E-IPER education and research and how an interdisciplinary graduate degree will advance their personal career goals.

Before beginning your application, familiarize yourself with E-IPER and its students, faculty, and policies by carefully browsing this web site, including reading through the pages for each degree. Be sure to explore other Stanford sites relevant to graduate education.

Diversity

Bringing together diverse opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and skills is an essential aspect of E-IPER's interdisciplinary, solutions-based education and research. E-IPER encourages applications from international students, members of under-represented groups, individuals with non-traditional academic training, and others whose backgrounds and experiences would make significant contributions to a more diverse community.

Admission to E-IPER is highly selective, and applicants are encouraged to discuss in their application how factors such as background, life and work experiences, advanced studies, extracurricular or community activities, culture, socio-economic status, sex, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation would advance E-IPER's mission to train the next generation of environmental leaders and scholars.
