Student Organizations

Stanford students possess the ability to engage in multiple interests. The 650+ student organizations found across campus enrich the social, cultural and educational experiences of Stanford students, influence the larger University community and enhance the overall diversity found at Stanford. Several of these groups are of specific interest to EE students, including:

Fuse

The mission of Fuse is to improve student life and foster community amongst the undergraduates in the electrical engineering department. By serving as a platform for social activities and events, Fuse aims to establish a network that students can leverage to succeed academically, as well as encourage work-life balance and facilitate communication between undergraduates and the EE faculty and staff.

GSEE

Graduate Students in Electrical Engineering (GSEE)

The graduate student body of the Electrical Engineering department at Stanford University aims to improve student life and strengthen our communication with faculty and administration within the department. GSEE's mission is to create an atmosphere of support as well as leverage resources for the academic and personal development of graduate students within the EE department.

WEE

Women in Electrical Engineering (WEE)

Aims to provide a sense of community for women students in EE at Stanford. The group organizes Big Sister/Little Sister mentoring pairs, lunch meetings, special seminars, and social and outreach events to address women-specific issues and provide a place for networking among current graduate women and EE alumnae. As demonstrated at other universities, they expect that such programming will help improve retention of EE graduate women and benefit all members of the EE community.

Stanford OSA

Stanford Optical Society

A student-run organization at Stanford interested in the promotion of optical science and technology. Its mission is to provide exciting educational, networking, and outreach activities for the Stanford community. Anyone interested in optics is encouraged to attend their events.

IEEE Student Chapter

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Stanford Chapter

Stanford's student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It is comprised of electrical engineering and computer science students (both undergrad and graduate) who want to have fun and meet new people, learn about research and innovation in technology, find themselves and their passions, help the community, and get inspired to change the world.
