Provides law enforcement, security, safety, crime prevention and emergency services on the Stanford campus 24 hours a day. Stanford Public Safety Officers are specially trained to respond appropriately to survivors of sexual assault. Survivors are encouraged to discuss reporting options with them to make a more informed choice about whether or not to file a police report.

Survivors of sexual assault or relationship abuse who are seriously injured, bleeding excessively, or unconscious need emergency medical attention, should be transported by ambulance to the Stanford Medical Center Emergency Room.

Medical Services at Vaden Health Center offers diagnosis, treatment, and referrals for medical complications of sexual assault, and for violence-related problems. Survivors are urged to seek appropriate medical evaluation as promptly as possible. Female clinicians are also available for evaluations and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (including HIV), and pregnancy.

Valley Medical Center is the designated hospital for Santa Clara County with a special Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Clinic staffed by professional clinicians who are specially trained to treat victims of sexual assault. SART provides emergency, comprehensive medical / forensic victim examinations and expert witness testimony following allegations of adult sexual assault.
Police and the on-call residence or graduate life deans are available to escort you to the nearest hospital or Valley Medical Center.
For undergraduates, contact the Residential Education House Staff (residence deans, resident assistants, peer health educators, resident fellows) at 650-725-2800. If there is no answer or if you have an urgent, after-hours issue, contact the campus operator at 650-723-2300 and ask to be connected to the undergraduate residence dean on call.

When you call the hotline, you will be put in contact with professionally trained and certified advocates from the YWCA Sexual Assault Center. The 24-hour hotline provides access to emergency assistance, confidential counseling, information and referrals:
- Accompaniment for sexual assault survivors to the hospital, police station, through court proceedings, and campus judicial services.
- Confidential counseling and consultation
- Information about sexual assault and abusive relationships.
- Referrals to Stanford services, local clinics, counselors, and victim assistance organizations.
- Advocacy on behalf of survivors to public agencies, legal and judicial services, and law enforcement.
