This Agilent GC-MS is applied to metabolomic analyses, using standard methods such as the Fiehn metabolomics method.

The Agilent GC-MS runs under ChemStation open access software.  Trained users select from a menu of standard methods to analyze their samples.  Electron ionization (EI) generates “fingerprint” fragment spectra for volatile compounds.

The Bruker micrOTOF-Q II is a benchtop Q-Tof, applied to a variety of applications such as small molecule accurate mass determination (HRMS), intact protein analysis including antibodies, peptide mapping, HRAM quantitation, and other custom projects. This system includes an inline diode array detector and ESI source.

The Scion GC triple quad is applied to targeted trace-level analysis of metabolites and other small molecules.  The electron ionization (EI) combines with MS/MS capability for outstanding selectivity.  Samples are often derivatized for compatibility with GC-MS.

The Quattro Premier triple quad specializes in quantitative work and selective of targeted analytes, including metabolites and other small molecules, and peptides from complex matrices such as serum, tissue, cell culture, and other biological sources.  An additional HPLC pump makes this system capable of online SPE for automated sample cleanup.  Both ESI and APCI modes are available.

The Waters ZQ runs under OpenLynx open access software.  Trained users queue samples to be analyzed using pre-determined methods, and results are emailed automatically.  This system runs a selection of C18, C4, and flow injection methods, and is equipped with a dual wavelength UV detector and an electrospray ionization source.

The Thermo Exactive generates high resolution, high mass accuracy full MS data.  It performs metabolomic studies, running standard metabolomics methods utilizing reversed phase and HILIC chromatography, and positive and negative ionization in ESI and APCI modes.

The LTQ XL mass spectrometer is used for a variety of studies including metabolite identification, stability testing, degradation products, and high-level quantitation, as well as general molecular weight determination, MSn analysis, and analytical scale LC-MS analyses. It is operated in-line with an Agilent 1100 analytical HPLC and variable wavelength UV detector, and the standard API source can be configured for either electrospray ionization (ESI) or atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI).

The LTQ-Orbitrap Velos is used for proteomic applications, including protein identification, binding partners, post-translational modifications, and quantitative proteomics. Analysis is performed on proteolytic digests by means of nanoflow LC-MS/MS with subsequent database searches using software packages such as Mascot, Sequest (Sorcerer), and Scaffold.
