Connecting the Dots: The Energy, Water, Food, and Climate Nexus »

April 19, 2013 12:30 pm

In celebration of Earth Day, leading energy researchers at Stanford from a range of disciplines will discuss the interconnections and interactions among humanity's needs for and use of energy, water, food, and the environment. Drawing on their own research, speakers will illustrate and evaluate some of the ways in which decisions in one resource area can lead to trade-offs or co-benefits in others. This year we will start with energy and consider opportunities to make decisions that can have positive benefits in one area while avoiding negative or unintended consequences in another area. Symposium attendees will also be able to participate in breakout sessions, led by Stanford students and faculty, on a range of challenges associated with energy.
