Welcome to VA Palo Health Care System (VAPAHCS). Our mission is to provide quality human resources, financial resources, and special events at all divisions and outpatient clinics of VAPAHCS.
VAPAHCS Voluntary Service is one of the largest and most complex VA facilities in the nation, providing services to approximately 130,000 Veterans. We have three inpatient divisions, Palo Alto, Menlo Park & Livermore, and seven outpatient clinics in San Jose, Monterey, Capitola, Fremont, Stockton, Modesto and Sonora. Over 2,600 volunteers work within the health care system.
Volunteering
Volunteers provide many important functions throughout the health care system and help make our patients' stay more enjoyable. Volunteers can perform a number of services, and a volunteer's talents are closely matched with one of our many assignments:
Student Volunteering - Anyone age 14 or older is eligible to work as a student volunteer with VA. In addition, the James H. Parke Memorial Youth Scholarship Award provides scholarships to exceptional student volunteers. Student volunteering offers valuable training for college or a future job.
Corporate Volunteering - Your employees have the skills and talents that VA needs to carry out its mission to 'Serve those who Served'. This can be your chance to give something back to the community while helping America's Veterans. Let the VA tailor a program for your company to utilize your employees' skills in rewarding ways.
