Sleep Problems

Sometimes infants and children don't sleep well because they are not breathing well. Our team performs diagnostic sleep studies and works with the Sleep Center at Stanford Hospital and Clinics to test children who demonstrate sleeping problems.

Some reasons for sleep problems can be enlarged tonsils or adenoids or cysts on the vocal cords. Working with Ear, Nose and Throat specialists, we sometimes use laser surgery to correct these problems.

Many children with sleep disorders show various behavioral problems such as daytime sleepiness, poor school performance, attention problems that can be improved by properly diagnostic sleep problems. Some sleep problems can be treated without surgery by using non-invasive devices to improve airflow during sleep.
