The World Bank’s Development Economics Group carry out original and innovative development policy research in partnership with local and international research institutions.

The Development Economics Research Group (DECRG) conducts original studies spanning economic growth and risk management to program evaluation and the implementation of key public services.

The Global Indicators Group (DECIG) carry out primary data collection, research and dissemination activities for the Doing Business, Enterprise Surveys and Enabling the Business of Agriculture projects.

The Global Research and Indicators Groups aim to achieve the following goals:

  1. Carry out cutting-edge development policy research
  2. Conduct data collection, research and dissemination activities at the regional level
  3. Provide leadership and research to increase understanding of development processes and policies
  4. Connect leading researchers and promoting dialogue via seminars, conferences and hosting of training programs
