Andrea Prada

Climate Data Intern

Bio

As a climate data intern, Andrea contributes to the NDC Partnership Knowledge Portal. She focuses on the NDC Funding and Initiatives Navigator, which provides countries with information related to the supply of financial assistance and support to implement their climate commitments (NDCs). She also collaborates with WRI’s Climate Resilience Practice (CRP) to generate indicators, open data, and visualization of vulnerability and adaptation to climate change worldwide for the Climate Watch/ NDC data explorer platform.

Andrea is pursuing a Masters in Public Policy with a specialization in environment and energy policy at the University of Maryland, where she has had the opportunity to study countries’ climate adaptation efforts in their NDCs and National Communications together with WRI's CRP. She was the technical assistant of Colombia’s coordinator for the UNDP, UNEP, WRI Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness Programme.

Andrea has consulted with the Colombian Government and interned at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington DC. She graduated from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering and a M.Eng in Project Management where she had the opportunity to publish an academic paper and give presentations about climate change mitigation actions and accounting in universities around the world. Andrea loves to be surrounded by people, bike, cook, and talk about her country.
