Chad Snelgar

Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Bio

Chad Snelgar joined WRI in 2016 as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. His charter is to oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reviews, metrics management, and other financial planning and decision analyses. He also supports capacity building and training in the operations areas.

Chad came to us from his position as Business Manager in the COO’s office FHI 360, an international NGO with more than $1 Billion in grants and contracts and offices in more than 60 countries. At FHI360, Chad was responsible for leading planning and budgeting, guiding business decisions, and leading business-unit and organizational portfolio reviews. He was the primary financial and administrative advisor to the COO. He brings his strong capacity building and training experience to help implement best policies, practices and procedures at WRI.

Chad has an MBA with a focus on Strategic and Financial Management and an undergraduate degree from Rhodes University in South Africa in Economics, Commercial Law and Accounting. He was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society for being in the top 15% of Rhodes University students.

Chad is based in the District where he lives with his husband Patrick, who is a communications and media-relations professional. They share a love of international travel, scuba diving and skiing.
