Scholarship student performers are recognized at the annual FoM Scholarship Recital in early February.

The Friends of Music welcome new members to join the tradition of supporting the Department of Music at Stanford.  All membership fees go towards organization administration and event outreach.  All scholarship contributions go towards lesson scholarships, student ensemble tour funding, and music major support for extra curricular summer studies and projects.

MEMBERSHIP LEVEL BENEFITS:

Contributions at any of the levels below receive the following benefits, in addition to those listed under each membership level.

  • Invitation to all Friends of Music events.
  • Addition to Friends of Music email lists (optional)

INDIVIDUAL ($40)

  • One free pair of tickets to departmental performances*
  • MAKE A GIFT

FAMILY ($60)

  • Two free pairs of tickets to departmental performances*
  • MAKE A GIFT

FAMILY PREMIUM ($150)

  • Three free pairs of tickets to departmental performances*
  • MAKE A GIFT

*FoM ticket vouchers may only be used at Department of Music Events. At the Bing Concert Hall, FoM ticket vouchers are awarded on a rush ticket basis, and may not be honored if a show is sold out.

SCHOLARSHIP LEVEL BENEFITS:

We welcome donations at any level. The amounts below constitute the real cost for student lessons.  Contributions at any of the levels below receive the following benefits, in addition to those listed under each membership level.

  • Quarterly calendars of Department of Music events
  • Invitation to all FoM events
  • Department of Music Concert pass (valid for one school year)


QUARTERLY SCHOLARSHIP- Music Major ($325)

Provides a quarter of private lesson instruction for a Music major, minor, or graduate student.

MAKE A GIFT

  • Named scholarship, and award specifications (instrument area, student year)
  • Thank you letter from scholarship student
  • Written recognition in departmental programs when student performs

QUARTERLY SCHOLARSHIP- Non-Music Major ($650)

Provides a quarter of private lesson instruction for a Non-Music major

  • Named scholarship, and award specifications (major area, instrument area, student year)
  • Thank you letter from scholarship student
  • Written recognition in departmental programs when student performs
  • MAKE A GIFT

ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP- Music Major ($1000)

Provides a year of private lesson instruction for a Music major, minor, or graduate student.

  • Quarterly thank you letters from scholarship student
  • Written recognition in departmental programs when student perform

ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP- Non-Music Major ($2000)

Provides a year of private lesson instruction for a Non- Music major.

  • Named scholarship, and award specifications (major area, instrument area, student year)
  • Quarterly thank you letters from scholarship student
  • Written recognition in departmental programs when student perform

PERPETUAL SCHOLARSHIP- Music Major ($21,000)

Provides a perpetual quarterly Music major scholarship for private lesson study.

  • Named scholarship, and award specifications (instrument area, student year)
  • Quarterly thank you letter from scholarship students
  • Written recognition in departmental programs when students perform
  • Complimentary tickets to select Department of Music/Bing Concert Hall concerts upon request
  • Engraved brass plaque on display in Braun Music Center

PERPETUAL SCHOLARSHIP- Non-Music Major ($42,000)

Provides a perpetual, quarterly scholarship for a non-Music major student.

  • Named scholarship, and award specifications (instrument area, student year)
  • Quarterly thank you letter from scholarship students
  • Written recognition in departmental programs when students perform
  • Complimentary tickets to select Department of Music/Bing Concert Hall concerts upon request
