R&DE Information Technology is a team of dedicated, technical professionals responsible for providing responsive, efficient technology support to the entire R&DE organization. The R&DE IT team prides itself on developing and implementing cutting-edge solutions to enhance R&DE’s operational efficiency. R&DE IT supports over 1600 technology assets and over 30 critical department applications supporting and empowering service excellence.

R&DE Information Technology fuels R&DE organizational efficiency and effectiveness by operating as a Strategic Business Partner to the entire R&DE organization serving a diverse user population within Student Housing, Stanford Dining, Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries and Stanford Conferences as well as our R&DE Strategic Business Partners in Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and Administrative Operations. R&DE IT aligns its technology infrastructure within the systems and support of the overall University and partners with University IT in the planning and implementation of related technology initiatives.

Program Management

The Program Management team manages:

  • Coordination of IT project management methodologies and logistics
  • In-depth business analysis for emerging technology initiatives
  • Related project management particulars such as scope, time, cost, quality and resource management
  • Coordination with Vendor Management and Contracts

Systems Operations

The System Operations team manages the overall technology infrastructure including:

  • Data center, systems software, middleware
  • Infrastructure design
  • Application development and integration
  • Application support
  • Website infrastructure

User Support Services

The User Support Services team manages end user support including:

  • Call center service desk for hardware and software support
  • Desktop and mobile computing support
  • Desktop encryption and backups
  • Procurement of hardware and software
  • Operational documentation, such training guides and videos
  • IT communications

Security Services

The Security team manages the information security posture including:

  • Policies, procedures and risk assessments
  • Application security, such as penetration testing and intrusion detection
  • Access management
  • Security awareness programs

Business Intelligence

The Business Intelligence team supports operational analysis and reporting including:

  • Business and data analysis
  • Enterprise reporting
  • Trend analysis and reporting
  • BI architecture planning and implementation
