Arrival and Parking

As you approach the Stanford Hospital, you will see blue signs
directing you to the Emergency department.
Please note that the entrance to the Emergency department is located at the back of the hospital, not the front of the hospital where the fountains are located.
If you are pregnant, please read our FAQ to learn where to go for care.
If the patient is a child, proceed directly to the Stanford Emergency department for services. Do not go to Stanford Children's Hospital as they do not provide emergency care. Emergency care for children is provided within a special area for children as part of the Stanford Emergency Department.
You may leave your car for a limited time in the emergency parking lot. Valet parking is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Valet parking is free for the first hour, $6 for 1–7 hours and $12 for 8–24 hours. If you leave after 8 p.m. and your car is with the valet, security personnel will assist you in retrieving your vehicle.
Metered parking is available in Parking Structure 1, located across the street from the Emergency department Entrance. After 4 p.m., parking is free in the same structure.
For Patients
The Stanford Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day. The Fast Track program is open daily from 11:30am-11:30pm and provides emergency care for patients 2 and older with minor illnesses and injuries. Most Fast Track patients are discharged within 90 minutes.
PREPARE FOR YOUR VISIT
Most Emergency Department visits aren't planned. However, if you are able, please bring the following with you:
- Photo ID
- Health insurance information (card)
- List of prescription medications and dosages
- List of medications to which you are allergic
- List of questions you and your family may have
- Recent test results related to your condition
- Contact information for your regular medical providers
