GE Healthcare Biacore X100

The GE Healthcare Biacore X100 is an automated and versatile system for comprehensive, label-free analysis and characterization of biomolecular interactions in real-time. Biacore X100 can be used for a broad range of applications, including structure-function studies, pathway analysis, biomarker discovery and validation, drug target identification and validation, and assay development. Real-time interaction data enables kinetic characterization, highly accurate affinity determination and detection of weak and transient binding events. Supports many different assay formats and the study of a wide variety of biomolecules including small molecules, proteins, DNA, and cells. These interactions can be measured in buffer solutions or in crude environments such as serum. Workflow-oriented software provides a structured approach to assay development, minimizes hands-on time, and generates reliable data without compromising flexibility for the best assay set up. Pre-programmed workflows for supporting kits, surfaces and reagents provide solutions for a multitude of assays. Label-free protein interaction analysis provides unique and comprehensive data on the interactions between biomolecules including

  1. quantitative kinetic analysis (rate constants),
  2. quantitative determination of affinity constants,
  3. determination of binding specificity (yes/no), and
  4. concentration analysis.

Labcyte Portrait 630 Spotter

The Portrait 630 spotter is a fully automated, nozzle-free acoustic droplet ejection system optimized to deposit MALDI matrix and other reagents onto tissue sections and other samples for precision MALDI imaging mass spectrometry. Flexible spot-on-spot positioning and timing enable sequential reaction chemistry and improve crystal formation—yielding high-quality, sensitive and reproducible mass spectra. The Portrait 630 spotter offers maximum control over laboratory experiments. It accommodates a wide range of reagent types, including MALDI matrix solutions, enzyme solutions, buffers, and surfactants. Because the Portrait 630 has no nozzles to clog, it accommodates even the highest concentrations of crystallizing agents. Precise application of reagents and matrix can be viewed through a full-color CCD imaging system. The individual droplet volume is 170 pL, and the deposition rate is user-adjustable up to 200 droplets/sec.

SunCollect MALDI Spotter-Sprayer

The SunCollect is a versatile instrument designed to operate as both an HPLC effluent touch-off spotter for MALDI target spotting and a micro-fraction collector for collection of HPLC effluent onto MALDI plates and into multiwall plates. For MALDI imaging mass spectrometry, The SunCollect offers a simple add-on accessory that allows for spraying protease and matrix solutions over the surface of a 2D tissue section by pneumatic atomization. Delivery of a homogeneous matrix layer is very reproducible and results in a very consistent matrix thickness. Depending on the matrix used, an initial light layer facilitates the formation of seed crystals that subsequently afford in a high degree of matrix homogeneity. System variables include matrix flow rate, needle speed, and number of layers. These can all be separately controlled over up to ten layers of matrix addition. The spraying software is simple and allows for quick changes to the speed of the spraying needle, number of tissue samples being sprayed, and the number of layers that will be placed over the tissue sections.

NanoZoomer 2.0-RS Digital Slide Scanner

The NanoZoomer 2.0-RS is a system that converts glass slides into digital slides by scanning them quickly at high resolutions. It processes up to 6 regular size slides or 2 double size slides automatically. The NanoZoomer 2.0 achieves both high speed and high sensitivity by using TDI line scanning (time delay integration) instead of traditional CCD tiling. A single slide can be scanned at a resolution of approx. 1.9 billion pixels in under 2 min. The NanoZoomer 2.0 series uses a 3-chip TDI camera to accurately reproduce sample colors. It enables observing minute variations in the colors of the sample. The 3-chip TDI camera has red, green and blue channels, and they are used to produce a single RGB image. The system uses JPEG compression for stored images. The NanoZoomer 2.0 series provides image distribution software that is intended to facilitate the broader use of digital slides. You can use the free slide viewing software to view the images on a server at any time anywhere.
