Members of the University HR Service Team are available to help employees and retirees

University HR includes several departments and groups that provide employee support. Each school and VP area also has an HR manager or a group of HR professionals for local support.

University HR Service Team Primary employee and retiree services, including medical, dental, life, accidental death & dismemberment insurance, dependent care savings, disability leaves, health savings plans, pet care insurance, retirement savings, retiree medical, tuition & training assistance programs (STAP, STRP, TGP).

Client Services

We manage a host of services to support effective HR management at Stanford and/or the University HR unit, including facilities and finance, processing, program operations, project management & change, support analyst team, systems and reporting, and the University HR service team.

Employee & Labor Relations We manage labor relations, interpret collective bargaining agreements and conduct contract negotiations and grievances. Interpret workplace policies, consult with managers to address and resolve issues related to employee performance and conduct, and manage the university’s layoff processes.

Executive Compensation Our group administers pay programs of senior level faculty and staff and serves as the liaison between University Schools/VP organizations and the Board of Trustees' Committee on Compensation. Email louc@stanford.edu or kfardy@stanford.edu.

HR Global Programs We provide guidance, benefits and leave administration to hiring officers around the globe.

Talent Management & Workforce Strategy

For talent attraction, we provide internal, full-service recruiting services for hiring managers and Human Resources managers to fill regular staff vacancies or to hire temporary help.

For talent management, we provide professional development opportunities for Stanford employees and organizational effectiveness consultation for Stanford departments and work groups and support University-wide initiatives to make Stanford a better place to work.

Affiliate Group for Employee Support: Faculty Staff Help Center

Another important resource is available to faculty, staff and their families; the Faculty Staff Help Center offers confidential counseling, consultation and training for both personal and workplace issues. Workshops and peer support groups are also offered that address a variety of issues, as well as facilitation services for difficult conversations.
