Health Literacy Solutions Lab

The Health Literacy Solutions Laboratory applies expertise in health-literacy research methods to address parent and adolescent health literacy as moderators of child health outcomes. With national, cross-institutional collaborations – the lab’s multidisciplinary team includes faculty from across the medical disciplines, as well as health services research, psychology, health promotion, computer science, and health economics. Many of its findings inform state policy and federal regulations.  Key areas of research include internet/mobile-based research for improving quality of care for children with medical complexity, paper and EMR-based applications to improve medication dosing and consolidation, and primary-care interventions to prevent childhood obesity.
