CEE 374: Environmental Informatics, Spring, 2005.
The class mainly discusses information systems for dealing with large amount of environmental data at multiple spatial-temporal scales and from cross-disciplinary research activities. Topics include modeling and analysis, information and knowledge processing and interoperability, information security, knowledge discovery and integration, effective and ubiquitous access to information and knowledge in environmental engineering and sustainable development domain. The class also covers the topics of using IT and Internet for better efficiency in environmental engineering research activities and knowledge transferring into the environmental engineering industry.
