The Clark Center Auditorium is located downstairs below the Clark Center Courtyard, accessible by the courtyard staircase or by the elevators in the East wing lobby.
It is available for lectures, presentations, seminars, and other events and can accommodate a maximum of 150 people with theater-style seating (rows of individual chairs with desktops).
NO FOOD OR DRINK is allowed in the Clark Center Auditorium or the lobby space at ANY TIME. Event speakers may have bottled water ONLY.
The event organizer and the event sponsor are considered jointly responsible for upholding this policy, and any food or trash left behind will result in a housekeeping fee of at least $250.
Only scientifically related meetings that serve the mission of Bio-X can be hosted in the Clark Center.
No posters, banners or materials of any kind may be affixed to walls, doors or railings. Posters may be displayed on the corkboard in the seminar room lobby area, or on easels.
For AV assistance, please submit a service request form to Stanford Event Services. For assistance with video conferencing, please contact Stanford Video. Please note that if you choose not to have an Event Services technician at your event and you encounter technical problems, you will still need to contact Event Services, since Clark Center does not have in-house AV technicians.
All of our rooms support VGA and HDMI connections, including the Auditorium.
Since we do not charge a rental fee for our rooms, we expect that meetings are open to all students and faculty and that there is no registration fee for attendance. If you decide to charge a registration fee we will need to review the reason behind the charge, and you will need express approval from Clark Reservations.
NO FOOD OR DRINK is allowed in the Clark Center Auditorium or in the auditorium lobby space at ANY TIME. Requests for use of the courtyard must be submitted via the online form. Please wait for written confirmation from our Clark Center room scheduler before organizing catering in the courtyard area. Catering in the courtyard MUST be arranged through NeXus Cafe (650 324-3447).
Food, beverages and smoking are never permitted in the auditorium. We are monitoring the room hourly, and please note, that a $250 cleaning fee will be charged to any group bringing food or beverages into the auditorium.
NeXus Café is the only approved caterer for the Courtyard. In the past, outside caterers have severely damaged the walls in the building and courtyard. For events in all Clark Center rooms and spaces, especially the Courtyard, if you receive an exception from the Clark Administrator allowing outside catering for an event, the event organizer must chaperone and supervise the caterers at all times to ensure that caterers leave the premises without causing damage to the building.
The user is responsible for leaving the Auditorium clean following the scheduled event. If additional clean-up or repair of damage is needed, you will be charged for these costs. Please provide an account number at the time of reservation as insurance for necessary clean-up or damages. Weekend events are not permitted without a Facilities office chaperone for the duration of the event.
Please note: Stanford's resources exist to support the university's missions of creation, preservation, and dissemination of knowledge. The university's assets must be preserved for these purposes, not for the personal gain of individuals nor for outside parties' uses which do not further Stanford's academic objectives.
Verbal confirmation that a facility is available does not constitute final approval. Written confirmation is required and will be issued after all policy matters have been reviewed. If there is ever question or difficulty in accessing the facility, Security Dispatch may request to see your written confirmation. You must have a copy of the approved application available, especially for any after-hours events.
All non-Stanford organizations and individuals wishing to use the facilities must be sponsored by a member of the Stanford faculty, staff or a registered student representing an academic department or student organization. Requests for use by non-Stanford organizations or individuals must be signed by the sponsor, and an account number given in case of damage or clean-up.
Any food or drink or related trash found in the Clark Auditorium will result in a minimum of a $250 fee, as food and drink are strictly prohibited in that space at all times.
No furniture of any kind may be brought into the Auditorium. The seminar and conference rooms must be returned to their original configuration by the end of the meeting time. If additional cleaning or repair is needed, a fee of at least $250 will apply. If an event will be utilizing the Clark Center Courtyard space to serve any food, a housekeeping fee of a minimum of $250 per four hours will be necessary.
Any meeting or event held on a weekend will require at least $250/four hours housekeeping, as well as a $500 chaperone fee. Events held after business hours (M-F 8-5) may also be subject to these fees.
