Fellowship and Grant Opportunities

Earth Systems Public Service Summer Fellowship:

The Haas Center for Public Service and the Earth Systems Program have partnered to launch the Earth Systems Public Service Summer Fellowship as part of the Cardinal Quarter initiative. This Fellowship allows students to apply what they have learned through interdisciplinary environmental studies and further engage this learning during a summer internship experience working in public service with an organization or government agency.  Contact the Student Services Manager with questions. Applications can be found on the Haas website.  Applications are due February, 2018.

Volpert Scholars Award:

Made possible through a generous gift of the Volpert family, provides financial support for work on research projects and internships undertaken by Earth Systems majors that will foster students’ growth as interdisciplinary environmental scholars and problem-solvers. Application information is available here. Contact program staff with questions. Applications are due February, 2018.

Stanford EARTH Summer Undergraduate Research (SESUR) Funding:

For summer research with a Stanford Earth faculty member on a designated project.

Haas Center Undergraduate Fellowships:

The Haas Center, in collaboration with campus programs and centers, supports undergraduate students to pursue local, national, and global immersive and intensive (8-weeks or more, full-time) service experiences.

Haas Center Postgraduate Fellowships for Seniors/Coterms: 

The Gardner, Ford, SPIN and Public Scholarship Summer fellowships support students to work in full-time, mentored positions with outstanding leaders after graduation.

Schneider Fellows Program:

To promote the awareness of environmental issues resulting from past and present energy use (support NGO efforts).

Stanford in Government (SIG) Summer Undergraduate Fellowships: 

SIG offers 50 paid fellowships and internship stipends annually for students to work in public policy across the country and around the world.

VPUE-Sponsored Summer Research in Biology and Field Studies Program:

On-campus summer research. Join participating faculty members in their labs for already-establised projects. For freshmen and sophomores.

Beagle II:
