Combustion

At Stanford, several research groups are exploring advanced combustion technologies to improve engine efficiency while minimizing emissions. Research projects include development of laser-based diagnostics to optimize performance and minimize pollution of combustion and propulsion systems, synthetic oxygenated fuels, sensors for advanced combustion, plasma-enhanced combustion of hydrocarbon fuels and development of a sootless diesel engine.
