Collection Support

The General Gifts Fund enables us to address our most urgent and opportune needs; note that all gifts to the Libraries serve this purpose unless otherwise designated. Donors wishing to commemorate a person or event with bookplates may give to The Memorial Fund or The Celebration Fund. Donors may also support a particular Collection or Subject Focus, such as Mathematics or Special Collections. Read about some of the remarkable collections acquired as a result of donor interest and action.

Innovation in Information Technology and Services Many of our digital initiatives, outreach programs and special projects rely upon donor support. Examples include protecting our materials through Conservation and Digital Preservation, subscribing to critically important Online Databases, Electronic Journals, Articles, and other E-Resources, sponsoring installations and catalogs in The Exhibits Program, underwriting advanced research tools for Academic Information Resources, sustaining Stanford’s tradition of innovation in Academic Publishing, and sponsoring positions for Student Library Interns.
