Obtaining macOS Sierra
macOS Sierra (version 10.12) is scheduled for release on September 20, 2016. As with previous releases the software is available for download at the Mac App Store. The update to macOS Sierra is free.

Software compatibility
You are encouraged to read this section in full to make sure the software you need to use is compatible with macOS Sierra before upgrading.
