Healthy Kitchen, Cooking Together

Are you looking for new inspiration for mealtimes? If so, you’ll want to join this Healthy Kitchen class focusing on the Mediterranean style of cooking and eating. There is evidence that this diet based on vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds, and olive oil may decrease the risk of heart disease, overall cancer, diabetes, and cognitive decline.

In this virtual cooking class, we will review what makes Mediterranean and related diets, such as the MIND diet, beneficial for your health and brain. Then, get ready to prepare a satisfying and delicious meal that you can enjoy for dinner. No matter if you are cooking for one or cooking for a family, the menu can be adjusted to meet your personal needs.

The recipe, including ingredients and equipment needed, will be sent out at least one week before the class so you’ll have time to shop for ingredients in advance. This class is offered on two dates during the spring quarter: April 7 and April 21. The recipe will be the same for both classes.

Instructor: Rosalyne Tu, MS, RDN, has been working as a dietitian since 2003 and has been teaching the Healthy Kitchen series of classes at Stanford since 2011. She is currently a nutrition coach and instructor for BeWell’s Healthy Living program and manager of the BeWell Wellness Profile.
