Windhover Contemplative Center

Student reading in the external courtyard of Japanese-influenced modern architecture

Away from the bustle of work and study at Stanford, you can find a quiet sanctuary on campus at Windhover, a contemplative center.

Windhover was built to house acclaimed artist Nathan Oliveira’s series of paintings and to give Stanford students, faculty and staff a refuge to experience tranquility and self-renewal. Bring your Stanford ID for entrance, leave your cell phone off, and enjoy a moment of repose during your day. Public docent-led tours are also available on Saturdays at 11 a.m., and meditation and yoga is offered regularly to faculty, staff, students and alumni.
