Vacation Benefit Change as of September 1, 2017

Some staff have an increased vacation benefit as of September 1, 2017. This change affects staff members who are:

  • Benefits-eligible
  • In non-exempt jobs
  • Have a length of service at Stanford University of less than 15 years
    • Staff in benefits-eligible, non-exempt jobs with more than 15 years of service are already accruing the maximum vacation accrual
  • In jobs whose benefits and policies are not covered by a collective bargaining agreement

The vacation benefit has changed to eliminate the difference in vacation accrual rates between staff in non-exempt and exempt jobs. Communication about this change was sent on August 31, 2017 by Elizabeth Zacharias, Vice President for Human Resources, to staff positively affected.
