Aaron McCarthy promoted to Stanford University’s Fire Marshal

Congratulations to Aaron McCarthy for being promoted to Stanford University’s Fire Marshal! McCarthy started at Stanford University as a fire protection engineer within the Environmental Health & Safety department February 14, 2000. As acting fire marshal, McCarthy has overseen the office’s three main groups including Fire Protection Engineers, Fire Prevention Inspectors, and Fire Systems and Equipment Technicians. The Fire Marshal’s Office oversees fire and life safety for the University facility construction and renovation projects, provides code consultation, reviews construction and fire protection design drawings, serves as primary liaison with regulatory agencies on fire safety compliance, operates the Remote Supervising Fire and Intrusion Alarm Monitoring Station, and conducts annual fire and life safety inspections, evacuation drills, and post-fire investigations.
