Be a Prepared Community Member
Emergency Preparedness Starts Here!
Emergencies and disasters can happen at any time. Take action now to make sure everyone in your family will be safe in an emergency. Here are five easy steps toward preparedness:
- Sign up for AlertSCC to receive emergency alerts and notifications from the County.
- Make a plan. If you need help making an emergency plan, download the ReadySCC app. It's an all-in-one emergency preparedness tool that lets you customize your emergency plan, create an emergency supply kit checklist, and features a resource and evacuation map when there's an emergency.
- Build a Stay Kit. This is an emergency supply kit for when you need to shelter in place.
- Pack a Go Bag. This is an emergency supply kit for when you need to evacuate.
- Check on neighbors if you are able to do so safely. When you are a prepared community member, you are better positioned to help others when an emergency or disaster occurs.
