Title IX Training for Graduate Students

In April 2016 the Stanford University Faculty Senate endorsed a resolution addressing unwanted sexual conduct on campus that included mandatory training for all graduate and professional students. With the strong support of the Office of the Provost, Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education, the ASSU Graduate Student Council, and the SHARE-Title IX Office, Stanford has partnered with EverFi to provide comprehensive training on these issues to all graduate students.

Accessing the Title IX Graduate Student Training - This is a two-part educational program with a mandatory 21-day intersession.

If you have already received an email from EVERFI notifying you that you are assigned to the Sexual Assault Prevention for Graduate Students course, please use this link to access the training program on the Foundry platform. You can also cut and paste this link https://admin.fifoundry.net/stanford-university-students/sign_in into a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) to access your assigned course.

If you cannot login in using your Stanford SUNet ID (use all lower case letters) and password, please email titleix-training@stanford.edu to request assistance and/or to be assigned to the Title IX training.

All matriculated students for summer and fall 2021 (and quarterly thereafter) have been assigned to the updated EverFi Foundry Sexual Assault Prevention for Graduate Students (SAPG) course mid-August 2021.

You will use your Stanford SUNet ID and password for the Single Sign-On (SSO) Login to access the course once the program is assigned to you. Title IX Checklist "to do" items will no longer be added to your Axess accounts. All matriculated graduate students will receive an assignment email notification to login to the EVERFI Foundry SAPG course at the start of your first quarter at Stanford. Part 1 of the course takes about 1.5-2 hours to complete. We recognize that this is a substantial time commitment on your part and we appreciate you prioritizing your health and safety as well as that of the Stanford community. You can leave and return to the course at any time, working at your own pace from any computer. There is audio, so take it in a quiet place, use headphones, or select the closed caption option. The embedded surveys will remain confidential and are not connected in any way to your login. Note that EVERFI will provide a certificate of completion for part 1 and then again for part 2. Remember that you must complete both parts of this course to complete the Title TIX Graduate Student Training requirement.

Enrollment Hold

Once a new student has matriculated, all new graduate students (including those enrolled in remote programs) are expected to complete the course within their first 10 weeks no matter what quarter they begin their graduate career. To encourage prompt participation, an enrollment hold will be placed on your student account for the next quarter that begins after your first 10 weeks expires if the requirement has not been met. Returning students are expected to complete this course and will also be subjected to the same enrollment hold as new students. Previous training on these issues does not exempt current students from this mandate. This is a one-time requirement and current students who have fulfilled this obligation do not need to take the course each year.

After completing Part 1 there is an intersession of 21 days. You will receive an email notification from the vendor (EverFi Foundry) on behalf of Stanford University to complete Part 2 when the intersession concludes (some students have had these emails filter to their Spam folder; if you don't recall receiving an email notification, you can log in to your account using the above link to check the status of your progress and/or complete Part 2 if it is available to you.) Part 2 takes on average about 20 minutes or less to complete. The course is only considered complete upon submitting Part 2. Note that EVERFI will provide a certificate of completion for part 1 and for part 2. Remember that you must complete both parts of this course to complete the Title TIX Graduate Student Training requirement.

Requesting to Opt Out

For some students, taking this course may trigger strong feelings related to past experiences. If this is the case for you, please seek out help, such as from the Confidential Support Team. FAQS.

I am returning to campus after a leave and have a hold on my account due to this training, what should I do?

Students in this position must email Katya Alcaraz (titleix-training@stanford.edu) to inform her of the situation and request a restart for the 10 weeks you have to complete the course. Your hold will be pushed out to the next quarter so you can enroll in the current quarter and have enough time to complete the requirement prior to enrollment opening for the next quarter.

I'm experiencing technical difficulties, what should I do?

For troubleshooting tips, please contact Everfi at support.everfi.com. While in the course, you can click "Help" at anytime for assistance with technical issues. Graduate students will be able to access the "Help" link anytime by clicking on their name in the top right corner of their screen, then clicking "Help.""

I cannot progress past the survey section(s) of the course. What should I do?

Please note that the entire survey is completely anonymous and no personal identifying information will be linked to your responses in any way. However, if these questions are difficult or uncomfortable for you in any way, or if you would prefer not to answer them, you can choose to leave them blank and still progress through the course content

I finished Part 2, why hasn't Axess been updated?

Axess will be updated weekly throughout each quarter except summer. During summer quarter holds will be lifted every 2 weeks. If it has been more than a week since you completed Part 2, please email Katya Alcaraz (titleix-training@stanford.edu)

I finished Part 1 a couple of weeks ago, why haven't I received email about Part 2 yet?

After Part 1 you begin a 21 day intersession. At the end of the 21 days you will receive an email with a link to Part 2. Some students have reported that the reminder emails, from EverFi Foundry, have been caught in their Spam filter. If you didn't receive or can't find the email from EverFi Foundry about Part 2, use the link at the top of this page to access your course within the platform.

Why is there an intersession at all? Why can't I just skip to Part 2 immediately?

Part 2 contains refresher content and a follow-up survey that assesses attitudes and behaviors. The intersession period allows students to process the information from the course and start putting their new knowledge and skills into practice. It also provides time for participants to become more acclimated to the school environment and allows the follow-up survey to measure: 1) how students' attitudes and behaviors have changed, and 2) the impact of the school environment on students' attitudes and behaviors (i.e. "the college effect").

I'm a TA/CA/etc. or have otherwise taken Title IX related training before, can I opt out of this?

No. Previous trainings on these subjects does not exempt students from this requirement.

I received an email stating I hadn't completed Part 1 and believe it to be a mistake, what do I do?

Note that you will receive a certificate of completion for Part 1 from EVERFI once you complete part 1 of the 2-part course. Please email Katya Alcaraz (titleix-training@stanford.edu) to review your EverFi Foundry profile if you have questions.

What should I do if I am a current student and enrollment for next quarter has opened but I have a hold on my account?

First, make sure you complete part 1 of the training right away to start the clock on the 21 day intersession before part 2. If you have completed part 1 and are awaiting part 2, be patient and remember you have until the Final Study List Deadline to register for next quarter.
