University Corporate and Foundation Relations

University Foundation Relations helps faculty and administrators identify and approach private foundations, coordinate solicitations, grant proposals, and obtain institutional signatures. Contact this office to request clearance to apply to restricted foundations. Requests to certain foundations require coordination by this office.

DoR Offices

Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research (DoR)

This office recommends and promulgates new research policy and oversees implementation and exceptions.  

Office of Technology Licensing (OTL)

Knowledge and discoveries from Stanford can be transferred outside of the University to benefit the general public. When those discoveries take the form of intellectual property, the transfer generally requires formal licensing through Stanford’s Office of Technology and Licensing (OTL).

Environmental Health & Safety

EH&S provides guidelines and resources for a variety of health and safety activities.

Industrial Contracts

ICO is responsible for negotiating and signing sponsored research, material transfers, and related research agreements with industry, except for clinical trial agreements.

 

International Affairs

The Office of International Affairs ( OIA ) supports Stanford's international research, programs, and activities, and facilitates new collaborations throughout the world.

Office of Sponsored Research (OSR)

The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) provides pre-award and post-award administrative services for sponsored projects.

Research Compliance

The Research Compliance Office (RCO) is responsible for oversight and management of Stanford’s Administrative (Compliance) Panels and ensures compliance with applicable policies, accreditation standards, and external regulations.

Science Outreach

Science outreach includes organized activities targeted at youth, school teachers, and the general public that will increase their interest, understanding, and involvement in math, science, and engineering.

Stanford is one of the first U.S. universities to create a permanent office dedicated to science outreach to address concerns about declining achievement in U.S. K-12 schools, the inadequate supply of trained American scientists and engineers to fill future jobs in the U.S., and the overall decline in scientific literacy of our citizenry.

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory

SLAC is a multipurpose laboratory for astrophysics, photon science, accelerator, and particle physics research.

Spectrum

The Stanford Center for Clinical and Translational Education and Research (Spectrum) is a Stanford University independent research center funded in part by an NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA). Its goal is to accelerate and enhance medical research, from basic discovery to improved patient care.
