The National Endowment for the Humanites (NEH) has awarded a grant to Stanford researchers to develop a suite of network visualization tools specifically designed for humanities research. Stanford Professors Paula Findlen (History) and Dan Edelstein (French) are the principal investigators, assisted by the Libraries’ academic technology specialists such as Nicole Coleman.

Prior research has included mapping the correspondence and social networks of Voltaire, Benjamin Franklin and John Locke as well as in-depth digital studies of the Republic of Letters and the Grand Tour.
