In March 2012, CAS hosted Akan cultural night. Under the direction of lecturer Kwame Assenyoh, students enjoyed a taste of Ghanaian language, food and music.
The 2012 Stanford Forum for African Studies was held October 26-27, 2012 at the Stanford Humanities Center. Speakers from around the world joined Stanford students and faculty to give talks on the them, "Mobile Africa."
