Welcome to SoE Connect! Our mission is to develop programming that enhances the experience of SoE staff at Stanford. We’re here to create engaging educational and professional development events, and organize opportunities to reach out in our community. Most importantly, we’re here to CONNECT SoE staff in a dialogue across the divisions of departments or groups and spread staff awareness of our participation in the School of Engineering’s mission. Making a Difference for the Holidays!!! What: Part of the School of Engineering Connect mission is to facilitate ways in which SoE staffers can become involved in the local community. In the spirit of the holiday season, we’ve organized not one, but TWO opportunities for you to give and make a difference for a child in our local community. When: from Now - December 8th How: Ways you can give…1) Toys for Tots: Pick up an extra toy while you’re finding holidays gifts for the people on your “nice” list, and simply place it in the bins around SoE before December 8th. Toys will go to the Santa Clara County chapter of Toys for Tots. Please bring only new, unwrapped toys (extra credit for science- and engineering- themed toys!). 2) Consider making a gift to the Ravenswood City School District, an underfunded K-8 school district in East Palo Alto. Read more: http://ravenswoodef.org/. Your gift will support much-needed supplies for their science and engineering Makerspaces. Our goal is to raise $3,000 for the Ravenswood Schools-- if each SoE staff member gives only $10, we can even exceed that amount! To make a donation, find the 'donate' link under the Quick Links side-bar which will help you navigate to their home page. On their home page, more information on how to donate is listed under the headline "Stanford School of Engineering Connects with Makerspaces." Remember to enter “SoE Connect” in the “notes to seller” drop-down at checkout so that we can track our progress towards our goal. |
