2015 Federal Statistical Research Data Center Annual Conference

The 2015 Research Data Center (RDC) Conference for the Federal Statistical RDCs (formerly the Census RDC network) will be hosted by Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley.  The one-day program will showcase research from the nationwide network of RDCs – including research using demographic, business, and linked employee-employer data from the U.S. Census Bureau, as well as health data from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Scholars with Census-approved projects perform analyses on non-public versions of data from these government agencies.

Call for Papers

The Federal Statistical Research Data Centers (RDC) at Stanford and Berkeley are welcoming proposals to present papers at the 2015 Federal Statistical Research Data Center Annual Conference. The conference will be a day of concurrent paper sessions and a keynote presentation. Papers should be based on current or recent research using data from the nationwide network of RDCs. Data for the research include demographic, business, and linked employee-employer data from the U.S. Census Bureau and health data from the National Center for Health Statistics and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The research should involve statistical analyses on nonpublic versions of the data from these government agencies.

Please submit an abstract of no more than 500 words describing your research question(s), data used (including sponsoring agency), methodology, and summary of results. Results can be anticipated or preliminary if they are not yet finalized. The abstract should include contact information, including e-mail and phone number, and affiliations for all authors of the paper.

Submission deadline is Friday, June 19, 2015. Notifications of inclusion in the conference program will be sent by July 15.

Business Meeting

The annual business meeting will take place the day before the conference (September 17) at the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences. It is intended for Census staff, RDC administrators and directors, organizers of potential RDCs, and officials from government statistical agencies. Attendees at the business meeting may also attend the RDC conference that takes place on September 18.
