Training Faculty

Our Training Faculty are highly distinguished scientists who have made fundamental discoveries in all areas of neuroscience from molecules to cognition. They have international reputations for excellence in both research and teaching, and are actively involved in training of Neuroscience Program students through participation in program leadership, direct mentorship, and instruction of program courses.

Neuroscience Training Faculty serve at least two of the roles below:

  • Actively serve on a program committee including Admissions, Curriculum, Program, First Year Advising
  • Teach a Neuroscience Core Module
  • Currently serve as thesis advisor to a neuroscience program student
  • Regularly participate in Neuroscience Program activities (student retreat, Journal Club, Superfriends)

Instructors

Our Instructors are highly distinguished scientists who have made fundamental discoveries in all areas of neuroscience from molecules to cognition. They have international reputations for excellence in both research and teaching, and have research programs that benefit program students in terms of informal research guidance or collaborations, but are currently not actively involved in Program PhD training.

Neuroscience Instructors are involved in the following ways:

  • Have Neuroscience program student rotate in the lab
  • Serve as a thesis advisor to a Neuroscience program student
  • Serve on the thesis committee of Neuroscience program students
  • Provide informal research guidance
  • Have research affiliations with faculty and students in the Neuroscience program
  • Interview students for the Neuroscience program
