Stanford Sleep Surgery offers a variety of programs for different purposes and academic levels.

Observership

Provides visitors with experience at clinical and surgical settings, observing Stanford physicians on a clinical routine and at the operating room.

Duration: 3 - 4 weeks

Visiting Scholar

Visiting Scholars are recognized experts (M.D.s or PhDs) who wish to visit Stanford from an outside institution. They are usually appointed for one year and may be renewed for a second year. Visiting Scholars must provide proof of outside funding equal to USD $45,000 per year. Their purpose is to forward a collaborative research mission. In summary, it is required excellent academic credentials to develop meaningful research.

For this purpose, further documentation and interviews are required.

Duration: 1 - 2 years

Fellowship

Open to Medical Doctors who finished an Otolaryngology or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency and the USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3 and who are interested in pursuing further academic career in sleep surgery.
