Overview

Our goal is to train the next generation of population health scientists, scholars, and leaders. PHS' educational efforts span across all of our core areas and are focused on three audiences:

  • Research trainees (post-doctoral fellows, doctoral degree candidates, early career research scientists)
  • Students Professional degree candidates (MD, PhD), graduate and undergraduate degree candidates
  • Community partners (public health departments, non-profit organizations, public and private school systems, safety net health organizations, hospitals, local health initiatives)

Students

In this year-long Cardinal Course, undergraduate students are placed in local clinics and non-profit agencies where they participate in direct service and project development, as well as put into context and practice the skills of community engagement and public health that are taught during weekly class sessions. Community Partners

Through PHS’ Office of Community Engagement, we work to strengthen long-term, authentic partnerships with local communities who focus on addressing real-world challenges related to health disparities.
