Stanford University Medical Center is located thirty-five miles south of San Francisco on the campus of Stanford University. It is a world-renowned tertiary care facility with over 600 patient beds, 20 inpatient operating rooms, an outpatient Surgery Center with 13 operating rooms, and outstanding clinical support services. In 1991, the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital opened its doors. This $100 million, 300,000 square foot facility adjacent to the main Stanford University Hospital contains a state-of-the art Labor and Delivery Suite with 10 private LDR rooms, two operating rooms, three intensive care beds and an antenatal monitoring unit. The Neonatal Intensive Care unit is adjacent to the Labor & Delivery suite and provides all modern neonatal facilities, including ECMO. The Charles B. and Ann L. Johnson Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Services combines all Obstetric and Neonatal care in one service line.
