The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department's provides a wide range of sports and fitness opportunities for lifelong enjoyment of directed and self-directed physical activity.  We are a Community for ALL Ages, and our offerings reflect this.  From After School Sports to Adult Leagues, to drop in play, and more, there are plenty of ways to get engaged and stay connected...all for your health while you have fun!

After School Sports

The Redwood City After School Sports Program is a year-round, school-based, multi-sports program for children.  We promote life skills development by providing a safe place for youth to engage in physical activity that develops their talents and self-esteem.

Adult Sports Leagues

Often called "THE HUB" of Peninsula Sports offerings, the Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department provides a variety of recreational experiences through adult sports leagues, fitness activities and programs.

Aquatics

The City operates two seasonal pools - Herkner Pool and Hoover Pool.  Herkner Pool offers summer swim lessons, adult lap swim, and open swim hours.  Hoover Pool, in partnership with Abilities United and the Sequoia YMCA, operates summer swim lessons, adaptive swim, and drop-in swim opportunities.

Community Sports Groups

We are proud to work in partnership with fantastic youth sports providers.  The City works closely with community youth sports organizations by providing field space, scheduling services, and facilitation for use.

Open Gym

Our Gymnasium accommodates a variety of athletes. Our gymnasium is multi-purpose, it can either have 6 Badminton courts, 3 Volleyball courts, 2 Basketball courts, one Competition Basketball court or one Competition Volleyball court.
